Who We Are, Why We’re Here

Our story started at a kitchen table in Old Town Scottsdale. Founder Mike Halperin was hunting for care for his mom, Dorothy—only to find cold hallways, hidden fees, and staff who saw room numbers, not people. He vowed to build the opposite: a sun-lit home where residents are family and prices are printed in plain English. That promise opened its doors in 2012 and has been full ever since.

Meet the team that makes it real:

• Mike Halperin – Owner, Scottsdale native, still answers the phone at 2 a.m.
• Laura Mendez, RN – Director of Nursing, 18 years geriatric trauma, mom of three.
• Dr. Alan Reddy – Medical Director, house-call physician, weekly on-site rounds.
• Chef Ramon – Le Cordon Bleu-trained, spices every menu with Sonoran flavor.
• Activities Crew – Certified dementia-care specialists who turn poolside sunsets into watercolor nights.

Our services—short, sweet, all-inclusive:

• Assisted Living – private studios, medication management, showers, escorts, whatever you need.
• Memory Care – secure neighborhood, Montessori-based programming, 1:4 ratio max.
• Respite Stays – 1–30 days while you vacation, recover, or just breathe.
• Hospice Coordination – we partner with every valley provider so no one moves twice.

One price covers rent, three daily meals, snacks, laundry, housekeeping, 24-hour caregivers, nurses, activities, transportation, even the morning newspaper. No level-of-care surprises, no asterisks.
